Pre-waxing prep

For best results, hair must be at least 1/4-1/2 inch of growth.  The shorter the hair, the less pain.

Exfoliate the area with a sugar scrub the night before, this helps loosen hairs and prep the skin.

Refrain from taking a shower or bath before the treatment because soaking the hair will soften it, allowing it to break more easily and making waxing less effective.

To reduce pain and swelling take an anit-inflammatory (Ibuprofen) 1 hour before service.  Avoid aspirin as it can thin blood and increase the risk of bruising.

Avoid CAFFEINE!  Caffeine is a stimulant, and can increase sensitivity and pain.

Do not wax within 24 hours of tanning or prolonged sun exposure.

Post-waxing care

Keep the area clean and dry,  When working out or activities that induce sweating, make sure to use a cleansing wipe immediately after to keep area clean.

Exfoliate after 2/3 days, and maintain exfoliation regimen as hair grows back.  This will eliminate ingrown hairs, and help keep the skin smoother longer.

Avoid TANNING!!  Tanning within 24 hours of waxing can lead to blistering and burning.

Avoid saunas and hot showers/baths for at least 6 hours.  The follicles are exposed and easily susceptible to bacteria.

Avoid friction, it can wait a day!

Wear cotton clothing, it allows the area to breath and irritation is less likely.
